According to the Adamawa state police command, there were no casualties at MRS filling station, Batchure Junction, along Numan Road, on Tuesday when two petrol tankers exploded near the fuel station.

Sharing the incident on the command’s X handle, they said investigations are still ongoing to ascertain the extent of the fire and the circumstances surrounding the outbreak.

“The Adamawa State Police Command commenced investigation into the fire incident that affected MRS filling station, Batchure junction, along Numan road tonight.

“The immediate response from the command’s operational unit and that of firefighters brought the fire under control,” the tweet read.

Additionally,  the command added that the Commissioner of Police CP Dankombo Morris, Psc (+), while welcoming any useful information that will aid the investigation, equally assures of the command’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property in the state.

However, contrary to what is believed that the fire outbreak was as a result of a tanker explosion near the fuel station, the command’s spokesperson, Suleiman Nguroje, when he was contacted cautioned that the actual cause of the fire is not yet known for sure.

All these sad incidents with many lives lost, properties destroyed and several persons injured.

Meanwhile, Adamawa state police command said the fire was controlled with the immediate response of the fire service and cooperation of the team members.
