Residents of Ike-Ideani road in Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra state have been left in shock over the discovery of the lifeless body of a pregnant hanging from a cashew tree in the area.

While security operatives in the State have said they have launched an investigation to unravel the circumstances surrounding the incident — the state commissioner of Police, Ikioye Orutugu urged stakeholders and community leaders in the LG to not withhold any information that may help uncover the cause of the woman’s death.

Orutugu who expressed sadness over the incident and described it as “inhumanity” —ordered full investigation to get the perpetrators and bring them to justice as the body was deposited at the morgue.

He also urged the general public to help with identifying the body so the woman’s family would be notified.
