Three serving senators from Kebbi State who were elected on the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) platform have defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The senators include; Adamu Aliero (Kebbi Central), Yahaya Abubakar Abdullahi (Kebbi North), and Garba Maidoki (Kebbi South).
They made their intentions known after a meeting with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the State House in Abuja.
The senators, accompanied by Kebbi State Governor, Mohammed Idris and other APC leaders, are set to formalise their defection, which is seen as a significant political shift in Kebbi State.
Also present at the meeting were Sokoto State Governor, Ahmad Aliyu; and the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Atiku Bagudu.
