APC Sends Prayers to Victims of Mokwa Flood

The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has sent prayers and deeply commiserated with victims of Mokwa community flood.

On Thursday, the people in Mokwa Local Government Area in Niger State experienced heavy flood that submerged over 50 houses, displaced several residents and caused over 21 persons to lose their lives as the death toll would rise following further searches.

In a statement the National Publicity Secretary of the APC, Felix Morka, on Saturday, the party its deepest sympathies with families that

lost their loved ones and those displaced from their homes as a result of the disaster.

The party thanked everyone who engaged in searching for displaced individuals and helping in the rescue of some.

“We commend the valiant efforts of first responders and courageous citizens engaged in search, rescue, and recovery operations in the flood-affected districts.

“We urge the National Emergency Relief Agency and other federal, state, and local authorities to expand efforts and interventions to quickly mitigate the impact of the disaster and bring relief to victims.

“It is our prayer that the souls of all who have died may find eternal rest, as we pray for quick recovery and healing for those injured in this tragedy. Amen,” the statement read.
