APC Believes in Open Democracy, Never Bought Votes – Argungu Clears

The National Organizing Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Sulaiman Argungu, has clarified that the party does not buy vote but rather engages purposeful leadership to gain the trust of the people who always vote willingly.

This was in response to claims that the ruling party bought votes to have won the Kano by-elections.

Argungu disclosed this while speaking in a video interview posted by Symfoni TV.

He stressed that the APC believes in open democracy and not financial inducements during elections.

He said; “We encourage our party members, the candidates in particular, and party leaders to mobilize people rather than vote buying.

“We don’t give money to anybody to go and buy votes. We believe in open democracy.”

The secretary further explained that the decision of the APC National Chairman to personally lead campaigns across states was a deliberate strategy to inspire confidence in members and show commitment to the party’s success.

He added that the approach helped the APC win in one of the constituencies in Kano State and also contributed to the party’s success in other parts of the country.

He explained; “To show purposeful leadership, that was why the new brand national chairman of our great party decided to go out himself during the campaign to be the soul of these states, so that we encourage our people.

Argungu also revealed that he confirmed from party agents that the was no malpractice throughout the said election except for minor issues in Anambra State.

He emphasized that he monitored election activities from the APC Situation Room throughout the weekend and handled all issues.
