Govt Alone Cannot Fund Education, Says Kaduna Governor

Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, has stressed that the responsibility of educating children cannot be left to government alone, calling for stronger collaboration among communities, faith-based organisations, private institutions, and other stakeholders to improve the education sector.

The governor made the remarks during the commissioning of an educational facility established by Christian Academy Management in Ungwan Bulus, Sabon Tasha, Kaduna.

He was represented at the event by the state’s Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General, Dr. James Kanyip.

According to the governor, meaningful progress in education can only be achieved through collective efforts.

He stated that the task of educating children should not be borne solely by government, adding that partnerships involving government, communities, religious bodies, and private organisations are essential for sustainable development in the sector.

Sani reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting initiatives that expand access to quality education, describing investment in young people as one of the most effective ways to promote peace, prosperity, and long-term development.

He noted that every investment in education contributes to building stronger communities and creating a more prosperous future.

The governor explained that his administration has continued to prioritise education through policies aimed at improving school infrastructure, widening access to learning opportunities, and ensuring quality education across Kaduna State.

He said the government’s goal remains making education accessible, affordable, and equitable for every child.

Speaking on the significance of the newly commissioned facility, Sani said it would serve as a centre for learning, character development, and leadership training, helping to equip young people with the knowledge and values needed to become productive citizens and future leaders.

He also commended the Christian Academy Management for its contribution to the education sector, describing the project as evidence that education is not only a social responsibility but also a strategic investment in human capital development.
