Ned Nwoko Hosts APC Meeting Over Creation of Anioma State, Elumelu, Onyeme, Others Absent

The Senator representing Delta North Senatorial District, Senator Ned Nwoko, on Saturday, hosted a meeting in his house with APC chieftains, leaders, elders, youths, members and supporters of the party in the senatorial district.

The meeting was hosted in Idumuje Ugboko, in Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State, the home town of Ned Nwoko where he disclosed plans to inaugurate committee in Asaba to help him achieve the creation of Anioma state.

He said, “We are on course. The technical committee will be inaugurated in Asaba to help me work towards actualising the creation of Anioma State.

”If you were at Agbor during the APC stakeholders gathering, you heard when the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Alhaji Umar Ganduje, said the creation of Anioma State is a done deal.

”We have taken all the steps in the Senate. As of today, 75 senators are supporting Anioma State.

“We have moved from the committee stage of the process to a public hearing coming up in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. Thereafter, we will come back to the Senate for the third reading of the bill for the creation of Anioma State.

“By next month, I will commence a visitation tour of all nine local government areas in Delta North to showcase my development achievements for the past two years, especially in areas of road construction in the senatorial district, many motions and bills in the Red Chamber.

“My priority still remains the completion of the Ogwashi-Ukwu multi-purpose dam, and the national grid step down at Okpai for light. I know that when we have light and water, everybody will be happy.”

However, during the meeting, the immediate past Governor of Delta State, Ifeanyi Okowa, Delta State Deputy Governor, Monday Onyeme, a former member of the House of Representatives Mr Ndudi Elumelu, among other leaders, were absent.

Meanwhile, earlier, when the meeting was fixed, the deputy governor, Onyeme had queried the rationale behind fixing the APC meeting in Nwoko’s house. The deputy also noted that he is the APC leader in Delta North senatorial district, according to the party constitution.
