… Don’t say it was not foretold and you were not warned!
What took place at the ruling All Progressives Congress, A.P.C. National Convention last night at the Eagle Square was at best an affirmation of a future decoy by the ruling party not only to retain power beyond 2027 but a well-orchestrated plot to sustain the old order of things.
Listening to Tinubu speak at the Eagle Square last night, two things emerged very glaringly;
- TINUBU AND THE APC WOULD BE UTTERLY RUTHLESS TO OPPOSITION IN 2027:
Hear him strike a defiant tone while acknowledging the role of opposition in a democracy but warning that his administration would not lose focus;
“It’s not easy to satisfy everyone, especially opposition politicians who are always looking for what to criticize, but we are not going to be deterred,” Tinubu said.
The dangerous implication of the above assertion including his views on the self-serving electoral reforms his administration had embarked upon is that with the systematic assemblage of fellow roguish and crook politicians across hitherto different platforms now under the APC fold, he and his thieving gangs are now more determined to snatch it, grab it and run away with it more than even the 2023 experience.
In other words, if the people were made to be asleep whilst he was announced at the death of the night like a thief in the night in 2023, the January 16th, 2027 elections results could be announced hours before it is concluded and they seem desperately determined to defend whatever they would dish out as the results of that exercise. So, when you see your Governors and lawmakers defecting en masse to the ruling APC, know it that they want to be counted in the grand scheme of things, sorry, rigging!
This must have inspired his satanic bold assertion that the criticism of the Electoral Act 2026 was misplaced.
Hear him; “The Act reflects our collective quest as a nation to strengthen our electoral system and consolidate democratic rule,” he said. Imagine the satanic boldness in positing that the electoral Act 2026 which failed to capture real time transmission of results as mandatory is a “reflection of our collective quest as a nation to strengthen our electoral system and consolidate democratic rule”, not even governance.
2. THE OLD ORDER OF THINGS WOULD NOT ONLY BE RETAINED, IT WILL EVENTUALLY GET WORSE.
It is no doomful prophecy that from Tinubu’s speech, he and his elitest gangsters at the upper echelon of the APC live in a different world from the current and existing realities of the common or average Nigerian. Hear him for example on electricity supply that has nosedived in a way and manner unprecedented in our history; “I assure you, many of you lamenting the problem of electricity and power; we are paying attention to that,” Tinubu said, adding; “We are hoping to increase power supply with an additional 1,500 megawatts,” he announced, in what many could claim is a renewed push to stabilise the nation’s fragile energy sector.
But come to think of the tone of the leader in delivering this promise and you would conclude that it rings de javu and that it is symptomatic of the old Chinese proverb that the more things change, the more they would remain the same.
He said he heard many of us, not truly the entire Nigerians (because Aso Rock) has been reportedly moved out of the national grid to solar) are lamenting about electricity and promised only a paltry 1,500 additional megawatts for a population of over 250 Million people running currently on below 4,000MW, which has grossly limited the capacity of DisCos to supply electricity to their customers.
As a matter of fact, data from TCN’s distribution load profile as of 25 March 2026 showed that a paltry 2,908 megawatts was allocated to the 11 distribution companies, according to a PUNCH Newspaper report. So, what would 1,500 additional megawatts do for a nation grappling with severe economic challenges like Nigeria that hitherto generated up to 45-50,000 megawatts but could only transmit about 5,000 or less due to challenges in the value supply chain?
According to the Nigerian Independent System Operator, an agency of the Federal Government,
Nigeria loses about N40tn annually to poor electricity supply. The organization rightly acknowledges that reliable power remains one of the biggest constraints to economic growth, industrial productivity, and job creation in the country.
NOW THAT THE MAN, BOLA TINUBU IS TRULY UNMASKING…
Bola Tinubu is a criminally smart crook, not just the regular Nigerian politician. Many had predicted, albeit wrongly that Nigeria is not Lagos and therefore he can never capture Nigeria like he did Lagos in nearly three decades. But the truth is that he knows how to play the evil game in the country’s political murky waters.
For instance, when Obaseki sought re-election and he preferred an APC candidate to stop him, Edo people shouted “Edo no be Lagos”. He simply retreated and replanned. When eventually he ’emerged’ or imposed himself as the President, he gave the same people someone worse than the former he had wanted to impose on them and Edo has now become Lagos, in the words of my Esan friend.
It is trite to posit that in his masterful grand schemings, Tinubu is the first politician ever to have discreetly understudied the Nigerian elites vis-a-vis the Nigerian masses and realized that once the former is settled to come up hither, the masses would be divided to fight them. Rather, everyone would sheepishly want to also queue behind to come up hither. That’s exactly what he’s doing with the so-called City Boys Movement- using the elitest ‘rogues’ to lure the poor and hungry to a dinning table they can never be a part of, least there would be too much traffic there!
WHAT 2027 SHOULD TRULY MEAN TO THE AVERAGE NIGERIAN…
Come 2027 elections, it would be the Nigerian electorates Vs. their thieving elites cum second colonial overlords and the masses would have to take their fates in their own hands- participate in the opposite direction and ensure that even those who would be given N100M forms to go to Nigerian Senate do not get there because they are only going for their personal political business. If the electorates get carried away by divisions, ethnic or religious considerations or any other distractions, Afghanistan would be way better than what would be left of the country beyond 2027.
I had imagined how this nation would have become a referencing point as a global giant amidst the increasing middle east tensions and global oil crisis if corruption has not made it difficult if not nearly impossible for Nigeria to own, operate and efficiently manage its own refinery. The citizens wouldn’t have been under the current predicament it has found itself despite nature’s blessing of oil and other numerous natural resources.
In summation, the thieving elites are united and strategic in their alliance to retain the old corrupt order of things. In 2027, the masses must also become strategic in turning their anger and suffering to actions that can save them from the mess they have been plunged into.
I am not trying to make a common sense to convince you because the last man that did was also at Eagle’s Square yesterday leading Bayelsa delegates to bow to Tinubu while singing “On your mandate we shall stand” with his former colleagues.
