A United Kingdom-based businessman, Azubike Daniel, popularly known as Zubitech Global, has emerged as the President General of Alibaruhu Enyigba Community following a consensus-driven selection process anchored on credibility, competence, and unity.
Zubitech Global, an Ebonyi-born entrepreneur recognized for his involvement in business and community development, was chosen after a competitive process that initially involved seven contenders.
However, in a decisive turn of events, six of the contestants stepped down yesterday night, while the remaining contender also conceded, paving the way for a unanimous emergence.
Community members disclosed that his emergence followed careful scrutiny of his track record, reputation, and capacity to drive development within the area.
Speaking to our correspondent, the Secretary General of the community, Comrade Otta Emeka Prescious, attributed the eventual absence of contest to the strong unity among residents.
“There were no competitors because the community is united. Everyone agreed and voted for those they believe are capable of moving the community forward,” he said.
Also speaking, the Village Head, Honorable Sunday Okemini, emphasized that the decision was guided by the community’s desire for structured growth and modernization.
“Development is better than living a primitive life,” he stated. “We have decided to have executives who will be handling the affairs of the community in an organized manner. That is why the positions were not contested but based on competence.”
In his remark, Zubitech expressed appreciation to the community for the trust and recognition bestowed on him, describing the opportunity to serve as a call to greater responsibility.
Reflecting on the process that led to his emergence, he noted that deliberate efforts were made to maintain peace and avoid conflict.
“My emergence came as a result of the peace resolutions that we brought to quench the past experience of violence we had in the past,” he said.
“The President General election has brought a lot of crisis in neighbouring communities, and it was almost getting to that extent in this one we organised. I had to step in to quench the fire and, as someone everyone in the community believes in, they had to align with the peace process,” he added.
He pledged to embark on key developmental projects, including the provision of 100 solar panels to improve electricity supply in the community. According to him, the solar panels have already been imported from China and will be installed as soon as possible.
The business Mogul also promised to construct Health Clinic, Community Market Square and motorised borehole to improve lives of the community.
He further assured residents of his commitment to addressing infrastructural challenges, particularly road access. He stated that if government intervention is not forthcoming within a reasonable timeframe, he would personally take steps to fix the community’s road network to ensure smooth movement for residents.
Zubitech Global’s emergence has also drawn attention to his growing record of philanthropy. Recently, the businessman undertook the construction of a new house for a woman whose home was destroyed by fire in Ikwo, Ebonyi State, a gesture widely described as an act of compassion and community support.
Beyond this, he has carried out several visible humanitarian interventions, including financial assistance to individuals in need, educational support for students, and empowerment initiatives for young entrepreneurs. He has also been involved in outreach efforts aimed at supporting vulnerable members of society and improving livelihoods within his community.
These efforts have further established his public image as a philanthropist, complementing his business profile and reinforcing the confidence placed in him to lead with a strong sense of responsibility and commitment to development.
Observers say the consensus-based emergence of the new leadership highlights a rare level of cohesion within the Alibaruhu Enyigba Community, with many expressing optimism that the new executive council, under Zubitech Global, will usher in sustained development and progressive governance.
