Trump Announces Completion of Iran Deal, Orders Reopening of Strait of Hormuz

United States President, Donald Trump, has announced that a deal between the United States and Iran has been completed, paving the way for the reopening of the strategic Strait of Hormuz and the removal of the U.S. naval blockade.

In a statement posted on his Truth Social account on Sunday, Trump declared that the agreement with the Islamic Republic of Iran was finalized and authorized the immediate reopening of one of the world’s most important oil shipping routes.

“The Deal with the Islamic Republic of Iran is now complete. Congratulations to all!” Trump wrote.

He added, “I hereby fully authorize the toll free opening of the Strait of Hormuz, and, simultaneously herewith, authorize the immediate removal of the United States Naval blockade. Ships of the World, start your engines. Let the oil flow!”

The announcement comes amid efforts to de-escalate tensions between Washington and Tehran following months of conflict and diplomatic engagements.

The Strait of Hormuz, located between the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman, is regarded as one of the world’s most critical energy corridors, handling a significant portion of global oil and liquefied natural gas exports.

Any disruption to traffic through the waterway has historically raised concerns over global energy supplies and international trade.

Analysts say the reopening of the strait could ease pressure on global energy markets, improve shipping operations, and contribute to greater stability in international oil prices.

While Trump described the agreement as a major breakthrough, full details of the deal have yet to be made public. Further negotiations and implementation measures are expected in the coming days as both sides move to formalize the agreement.
