The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has mourned the death of former House of Representatives member and party chieftain in Jigawa State, Alhaji Abba Anas Adamu, describing his passing as a painful loss to the party and the country.
In a statement signed by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, the ADC said it was “deeply saddened by the tragic death” of the former lawmaker, who represented the Birniwa/Guri/Kirikasamma Federal Constituency between 2007 and 2011.
The party praised the late politician for his dedication to public service and grassroots politics, noting that he served with “humility, dignity, and integrity.”
According to the statement, Alhaji Abba Anas Adamu was widely respected for his “calm disposition, accessibility, and commitment to his people.”
ADC said his death was “a painful loss, not just to his family and Jigawa State, but to all of us in the ADC family.”
The opposition party also linked the tragic incident to the worsening security situation in the country, stating that his passing is “yet another painful reminder of the growing insecurity confronting our country.”
The party prayed for Almighty Allah to forgive his shortcomings, grant him Aljannatul Firdaus, and comfort his family and loved ones during the difficult period.
