Governor Seyi Makinde has said the Peoples Democratic Party is positioned to produce Nigeria’s next president in the 2027 general elections.
Makinde made the statement in Abuja while addressing party members and stakeholders during a meeting of a faction aligned with him.
Expressing confidence in the party’s chances, he said:
“We should write it down. This gathering will produce House of Assembly members, will produce House of Representatives, will produce Senators, will produce Governors and will produce the next President.”
He also stressed the need for unity within the party, urging members to remain focused ahead of the elections.
The statement comes amid ongoing internal disputes within the PDP and wider political realignments ahead of the 2027 polls.
