Former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has congratulated Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen following his outstanding performance in helping Galatasaray S.K. secure the Turkish Süper Lig title.
Osimhen played a decisive role in Galatasaray’s title-clinching victory, scoring twice in a dominant performance that confirmed the club as champions of the Turkish top flight. His goals further capped an impressive season for the Nigerian forward, who has remained one of the team’s standout performers throughout the campaign.
In a congratulatory message, Obi praised Osimhen for his resilience, discipline, and dedication, noting that the football star continues to inspire millions of young Nigerians through his achievements on the global stage.
The former Anambra governor highlighted Osimhen’s decisive contribution to Galatasaray’s title-winning campaign, where the striker scored twice in the victory that sealed the championship.
Obi described the Super Eagles forward as a proud ambassador of Nigeria whose success continues to bring honour to the country.
He also used the opportunity to stress the importance of sports development in Nigeria, lamenting what he called the continued neglect of the sector despite the abundance of talented young people across the country.
According to him, Nigeria possesses many gifted individuals like Osimhen who only require proper leadership, support, and an enabling environment to excel internationally and contribute positively to national development.
He concluded by wishing the striker even greater success in the years ahead.
