Spartak Moscow Star Pablo Solari Accidentally Smashes Russian Cup Trophy During Celebration

Argentine forward Pablo Solari became the unexpected center of attention after accidentally breaking the Russian Cup trophy during Spartak Moscow’s title celebrations on Sunday night.

Spartak had just defeated Krasnodar in a tense final at Moscow’s Luzhniki Stadium, winning 4-3 on penalties after both sides played out a 1-1 draw in regulation time.

Solari had earlier given Spartak the lead during the match before the game eventually headed into a dramatic shootout.

However, the biggest talking point came moments after the final whistle.

As players gathered to celebrate with supporters, Solari lifted the crystal trophy above his head in excitement.

Seconds later, the lower section of the cup suddenly detached before the lid slipped off and shattered on the ground, leaving teammates and fans stunned.

Videos of the moment quickly spread across social media platforms, with many supporters blaming the fragile design of the trophy rather than the player himself.

One fan reacting online wrote:

“What a stupid design.”

Another supporter commented:

“He did nothing wrong.”

Spartak Moscow later reacted humorously to the incident on social media, joking:

“Friends, terrible news. We finished off the Cup.”

Despite the awkward moment, the celebrations continued as Spartak secured their fifth Russian Cup title and their first triumph in the competition since the 2021/22 season.

The victory further strengthened the club’s reputation as one of Russia’s most successful football teams.
