The Founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide, Bishop David Oyedepo, has cautioned young Nigerians against relying on sports betting as a means of making money, describing it as a dangerous path that can destroy their future.
Speaking during a sermon on Sunday, Oyedepo urged youths to reject the desire for quick wealth through gambling, stressing that lasting success comes through diligence, patience and consistent hard work.
Addressing members of the congregation, the cleric warned that betting is not a dependable route to financial prosperity.
“Young people, naija bet is not the way to financial fortune. Stop wasting your destiny, stop wasting your destiny, Stop wasting your destiny. I have never been once deceived. Stop!”
He encouraged young people to remain focused even when progress appears slow, saying genuine success often takes time but stands the test of time.
“Things may be slow, but it is sure.”
Oyedepo also recounted a personal experience to highlight the importance of gratitude and remaining faithful to those who positively impact one’s life.
According to him, the woman who led him to Christ at the age of 15 received a car from him many years later as a way of expressing appreciation.
“My mother of faith led me to Christ at 15. When I turned 60, I got her a car that they took to her place in the U.S., she wept. You had better wake up.”
